Climate change is an issue that affects every corner of the Earth, and this is something Electric Sufi bid to demonstrate throughout their works: despite the different cultural backgrounds of their members, they are all united by this environmental issue.
Each of the band’s three members are inspiring in their own way – for instance, Sarah Yaseen, lead vocalist, specialises in Sufi music and comes from a Kashmiri background. For Sarah, music is an expression of activism. Mina Salama, a multi-instrumentalist, is a Coptic Christian Egyptian, who fled his home country as a result of ongoing persecution. Robert Till is from York and offers an electric flair within his distinctive production.
