Christopher Henderson Creates Bespoke Metal Art for Modern Interiors

In contemporary interiors, statement artwork often plays a central role in defining the character of a space. Hull-based artist Christopher Henderson creates metal sculptures and abstract wall art that are designed to do exactly that, combining industrial materials with handcrafted detail and modern visual impact.

Henderson’s practice is rooted in more than 25 years of experience in engineering and sheet metal fabrication. This background allows him to work confidently with stainless steel, aluminium and Corten steel, using specialist techniques to bend, cut, weld and finish each piece. His sculptures are not mass-produced decorative objects; every artwork is individually made by hand and designed to carry its own form, surface detail and presence.

His artistic development is also connected to family influences. Henderson was inspired by his uncle, an abstract oil painter, and his father, who built bespoke picture frames and sold fine art. These early connections to creativity and craftsmanship have shaped his approach, while his engineering career has given him the technical ability to bring complex metal forms to life.

Today, Henderson’s work is collected internationally and used in private homes, commercial projects and luxury settings. He is increasingly focused on larger commissions, including artworks for residential developments, hotels, corporate interiors and architectural installations. His sculptures are created not only to decorate spaces but to become lasting centrepieces built from durable materials intended to endure for generations.
