Judith Owen Blends Swing, Blues and Gospel on “Suit Yourself”

“Suit Yourself” presents Judith Owen at full range, moving between intimate piano-led moments, sextet performances and big-band arrangements. The album is set for release on April 24, 2026, via Twanky Records, following a run of acclaimed projects that have deepened Owen’s relationship with jazz and blues.

The album follows the spirit of “Come On and Get It,” “Judith Owen Swings Christmas” and “Comes Alive,” while also highlighting Owen’s own songwriting and arrangement style. Its sound is rooted in classic forms but shaped by Owen’s modern sense of drama, humor and emotional directness.

The Gentlemen Callers provide the core band, with David Torkanowsky, Kevin Louis, Ken Warshawsky, Jamison Ross, David Blenkhorn and Ricardo Pascal forming the musical foundation. The JO Big Band expands the album’s scope, while Davell Crawford, Joe Bonamassa and the Tonya Boyd-Cannon Choir add distinctive guest performances.

From “That’s Why I Love My Baby” to “Inside Out,” the album is designed as a complete Judith Owen experience. It celebrates the jazz and blues songs that inspire her while also reinforcing her reputation as a vocalist capable of making familiar traditions feel personal, theatrical and alive.
