Ahoy! Pirates Weekend Plymouth 2025

Each May, Plymouth—known as the UK’s Ocean City—celebrates its rich maritime history. This year, Pirates Weekend 2025 returns on May 17–18. Families, tourists, and locals are all welcome to join two full days of pirate fun across the city’s waterfront.


🏴‍☠️ What to Expect at Pirates Weekend Plymouth 2025

From 10am to 4pm, the streets of the Barbican, Sutton Harbour, Royal William Yard, and West Hoe Park will come alive. With music, shows, and hands-on activities, there’s something for everyone.

Main attractions include:

  • Live entertainment – Enjoy street performers, pirate puppet shows, and traditional sea shanty music.
  • Interactive fun – Children can attend Swashbuckle School, craft pirate coins, or get their faces painted.
  • Mermaid encounters – Meet a magical mermaid or see a life-sized statue made from ocean waste.
  • Costume contests – Dress up in your best pirate gear for a chance to win!
  • Fun Run – On Sunday, take part in a 3K charity run to support Jeremiah’s Journey.

How to Get There

Getting around is easy. A free ‘Aargh & Ride’ shuttle bus will take you to key event zones. You can park nearby and ride to each location.

To avoid large crowds, visit early between 10am and 11am. The event is also family-friendly and accessible, with rest areas and support points throughout the day.
