The musical genius that is Vienna is back with her latest EP, RYDA. The 18-year-old artist has already made waves in the industry with her previous EP, XVIII, and her single “Questions” being featured on a Spotify Editorial playlist.
Now, Vienna is back with her latest project, RYDA, and the lead single, “Blank in Space”, which was released on April 7th, 2023. “Blank in Space” is a soulful, emotive track that showcases Vienna’s incredible vocal range. The production is reminiscent of old school DnB, R&B, and contemporary bedroom and alternative pop sounds. Lyrically, the song speaks to self-empowerment and the feeling of peace after the stress and overworking has passed.
As Vienna explains, “A lot of people talk about the struggle to get there and their success after but I don’t see a lot of people talk about the peace afterward which is just as important. This is what ‘Blank in Space’ is trying to portray.”
“I definitely have evolved as a songwriter over the many years I’ve been writing songs. I now understand truly how to express who I am through my lyrics and that is all I’ve ever wanted to do. I feel as though now as people listen to my songs, they are truly getting to know me.”
Vienna is no stranger to the music industry. At only 16, she received BBC Radio airplay with the release of her single “It’ll All Be Over”. She has been writing songs for 7 years and by the age of 13 had written well over 50 songs.
